Anchorage Court Records Search

The Anchorage Superior and District Courts are at 825 West 4th Avenue, Anchorage, AK 99501. This is the busiest court in the state. The Superior Court hears felony cases, civil matters over $100,000, domestic relations cases, and probate. The District Court takes misdemeanors, civil cases up to $100,000, and small claims up to $10,000.

Anchorage Criminal History Search

The Department of Public Safety main office is at 5700 East Tudor Road in Anchorage. This is the best location in the state for walk-in background checks. Hours are 8:15 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Name-based checks cost $20 and need the subject's name and date of birth. Fingerprint-based checks cost $35 and use an FD-258 card. Bring two forms of ID. One must be a government photo ID. Under AS 12.62.160, anyone can ask for criminal history records on any other person.

You can also start a request through the DPS online background check portal without going in person. The criminal history report covers adult arrests and convictions. It shows felony and misdemeanor charges, convictions, dismissed charges, and not guilty findings. Infractions and most juvenile offenses are left out. Extra copies cost $5 if ordered at the same time. A separate order later costs $20 per copy.
